Delivered by BlueCHP in partnership with the Queensland Government and key stakeholders, this project provides safe, secure, and accessible housing, designed to support independent living and long-term community connection.

The Carman was thoughtfully designed to meet the growing demand for affordable and accessible housing in South East Queensland.

The development offers modern, well-designed homes that prioritise functionality, comfort, and accessibility, ensuring residents can live independently while remaining connected to their local community.

This complex provides:

  • Purpose-built housing for seniors and people living with disability
  • High-quality, accessible and sustainable design
  • A safe and supportive community environment

Most importantly, these homes provide residents with the opportunity to establish a secure home and begin a new chapter.

Platinum Units with Multi-Purpose Room

Three of the homes are Platinum units, thoughtfully designed to support residents living with disabilities. These homes include features such as wheelchair-friendly access, side-opening ovens, drawer dishwashers, and accessible bathrooms. As a result, they enhance comfort, safety, and independance. In addition, each Platinum unit features an extra multi-purpose room. While this space does not include windows, it is fully air-conditioned and easily accessed via a sliding door. It is intended as a flexible room that can be used for a range of purposes, including medical or support-related use.

This complex was officially opened in March 2026 by The Hon. Sam O’Connor MP and The Hon. Amanda Stoker MP, alongside project partners, stakeholders, new residents, and members of the local community.

Behind the Name – In Honour of Tim Carman

The Carman is named in honour of Tim Carman (1964–2023), Lead Design Architect at idearchitecture.

Tim played a pivotal role in shaping the project from its early conception in 2021, bringing decades of experience in the social and affordable housing sector. His approach focused on delivering practical, high-quality housing solutions that enhance the lives of residents.

While the project was completed following his passing, Tim’s legacy is embedded in the design and will continue to positively impact residents for years to come.
